Colonel's wife insults officer, video goes viral, commotion on social media

A video has gone viral on Twitter in Pakistan on Wednesday night in which a woman claiming to be the wife of a Pakistani army officer can be seen cursing an officer on the street.

In the first part of the video, the woman tells the officer that she is the wife of a colonel and cannot be stopped on the street.

In the second part of the video, the woman gets out of the car, removes the roadblocks and leaves, cursing the officer.

When the BBC tried to contact the local police, despite repeated attempts, no response was received, but according to correspondent Farhat Javed, military sources said the incident took place on May 20 at around 5 pm in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. I met her on the Hazara Expressway in Mansehra while she was traveling from Mansehra to Shankiari.

Military sources have confirmed that the woman's husband belongs to the Pakistan Army, who is a lieutenant colonel.

According to the correspondent, military sources also said that the said officer was also posted outside the Frontier Force Regiment Center in September 2018 for insulting a traffic policeman.

After the video surfaced, the hashtag "Colonel's wife" not only became a trend on Twitter, but also became a top trend, with users questioning whether such behavior with a uniformed official was acceptable.
